Fast networks interconnect encompasses a wide range of fields including optical (Infiniband/Ethernet), storage, backplane, cloud, enterprise data centers and more. All use very fast connection speeds (10G/40G/100G/400G). The distance the information can be transmitted is an important aspect of the system. ECC solutions are applied to lengthen the distance that the data can traverse with special care applied in regards to the size and latency of the codes. Due to the very high speed and the strict requirements on output error rate in the system, the existing ECC solutions are inefficient. Tsofun’s ECC takes this market to new levels by implementing a novel scheme that boosts performance (e.g. distance) by approximately 100%, while keeping the same latency and implementation size as current ECC solutions.
